Ⅱ. インストールの準備(Preparing the Installation)

1. Linuxパーティションのフォーマット

ファイルシステムは好みで(^^)　私は、ext3で使ってます。

# mke2fs -j /dev/hda2
# mke2fs -j /dev/hda3
# mke2fs -j /dev/hda6

2. スワップパーティションのフォーマット

# mkswap /dev/hda5

3. スワップを有効にする(Activate the swap partition)

# swapon /dev/hda5

4. ルートパーティションのマウント(Mount the root partition)

# mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo

5. マウントポイントの作成(Create the boot mountpoint)

# mkdir /mnt/gentoo/boot
# mkdir /mnt/gentoo/home

6. ルートパーティション以外のマウント(Mount the boot partition)

# mount /dev/hda2 /mnt/gentoo/boot
# mount /dev/hda6 /mnt/gentoo/home

7. ルートパーティションへ移動(Go to the mountpoint)

# cd /mnt/gentoo

8. ステージファイルのダウンロード(Surfing to the mirror listing with links2)

# links2 http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml
→ mirror.gentoo.gr.jp (Japan)
→ releases
→ x86
→ 2004.2
→ stages
→ x86
ダウンロード→ stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2
ダウンロード→ stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2.md5
"q"で終了

9. ステージファイルのチェック(checking integrity of a stage tarball)

# md5sum -c stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2.md5
stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2: OK

10. ステージファイルの展開(Extract a stage tarball...)

# tar -xvjpf stage1-x86-2004.2.tar.bz2

11. ミラーの設定(Select a mirror)

取りあえず、日本のサイトを全て選択

# mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf

12. ネームサーバの情報を設定(Copy over nameserver information)

# cp -L /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf

13. procファイルシステムをマウント(Mount the proc filesystem)

# mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc

14. 新環境にchrootで移行(Chroot into the new environment)

# chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash

15. 環境変数(他)の設定(Load the necessary variables)

# env-update; source /etc/profile

16. Portegr情報の更新(Updating the Portage tree)

# emerge sync					[約6分]
