やはり、ライブラリの問題である可能性が高いのですね。

一応参考までに問題が発生しなかったディストリビューションで
使用されているlibxml2.so のバージョンを書いておきます。

今回、メーリングリストに投稿するまで３週間近く一人で
堂々巡りを繰り返していたので、
エラーがスクリプトのバグや自分の環境に起因する問題でないという
自信が持てただけでも収穫でした。思い切って投稿してよかったです。
次の Plamo4.2 では解決されていることを期待しています。
