遠い記憶を頼りに探してみました.
RFC2646 の以下の記述が根拠かな?

普段,署名を付ける事が無い私ですが,何かの拍子で付ける際には
"DASH DASH SP" かなぁ...
(ココとは別の)変な所で噛み付かれる位なら変えておいた方が
良いかなって程度に思っていれば良いのではないでしょうか?
